Activity of Hostmaster Ltd during the first six months of 2008. The facts and commentaries.

The first half-year of 2008 was characterized by positive dynamics of the domain .UA development. For the period from 01.01.08 till 01.07.08 the number of second level domain names of the (for example, domainname.ua), delegated to the owners of officially registered in Ukraine trade marks has increased for 934 domains and has reached 5905.

The number of the private domains delegated in COM.UA has increased for 22,5%, that is 1,03% more than the increase of the corresponding period of 2007. For July 1st, 2008, 116127 domain names were registered in this domain.

The procedure of actualization initiated by Hostmaster Ltd on March 15th, 2007 in connection with the introduction of the domain kiev.ua Policy allowed to provide the quality of service corresponding to the world standards and Ukrainian legislation requirements at registration, administration and technical support of the one of the most popular public domains in Ukraine. Introduction of domain kiev.ua Policy and the improvement of quality of service in this domain positively affected the development of the domain. For July 1st, 2008, 57948 domain names were registered in the domain kiev.ua according to domain Policy, that is 3029 more than for the beginning of year.

The trends of domain names in domain .UA

The administrator of domain .UA Hostmaster Ltd reminds that on August 1st, 2008 registration of the domain names which were subject to data actualization before May 31st, 2007, but did not received the prolongation of registration in 2008 and having HOLD status at present will be cancelled. These domains will become free for the new registration. In order to renew the activity of these domain names the users should apply to official registrars of domain names in Ukraine on July, 31st, 2008 at the latest.

The total of third level domain names delegated in the domain .UA has increased by 28561 and has made 363634 during the first six month of 2008.
